Fernando Villarroel
Fernando Villarroel, a Northern Virginia resident and native Spanish speaker, brings extensive legal experience to his practice. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Global Affairs with a Minor in Spanish from George Mason University before obtaining his Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law. During law school, Fernando actively participated in the Latino/a Law Students’ Association and the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. He also gained hands-on legal experience through the school’s Criminal Justice Clinic Program, successfully defending clients in court.
Fernando began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Arlington County Circuit Court, where he gained valuable experience in trial practice, legal research, and case analysis for criminal and civil matters. Transitioning to private practice, he has since focused on criminal defense at the federal and state levels, representing clients facing severe charges, including racketeering, conspiracy, murder, rape, aggravated malicious wounding, and drug distribution.
Known for his meticulous approach and relentless advocacy, Fernando is committed to securing the best possible outcomes for his clients. His dedication to justice and in-depth understanding of criminal law make him a formidable defense attorney in Virginia.

I got charged with a possession charge and couldn’t afford a lawyer at the time, so the court appointed Fernando to my case. Whenever you choose to get a court appointed lawyer you’re always taking a risk. Because you’re one of who knows how many clients the court has given him with the same problems.
