Fernando Villarroel, a long-time resident of Northern Virginia and native Spanish speaker, graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Affairs and a Minor in Spanish. Fernando later graduated from the American University Washington College of Law, where he was an active participant in the Latino/a Law Students’ Association and the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. Fernando was also very involved in his law school’s distinguished clinical program and successfully defended clients in court during his participation in the Criminal Justice Clinic program.
Before entering private practice, Fernando served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judges of the Circuit Court of Arlington County, where he gained experience in trial practice through conducting legal research and drafting bench memoranda in connection with both criminal and civil cases. Once he entered private practice, Fernando has focused primarily on criminal defense in both federal and state courts. Fernando has represented clients facing life-altering charges such as racketeering, conspiracy, murder, rape, aggravated malicious wounding, drug distribution, and other serious felony cases. Fernando is a hard-working, meticulous, and zealous advocate for his clients, always working towards achieving the best possible outcomes.
